Quality Hotel Colonial Launceston Guest Reviews
The hottel has a English style main building with a fine wooden interior. Breakfast is served in an impressive setting, and the staff are very helpful. Nearby to the hotel is a beautiful park, with a fountain in the centre, dating from the early years of Launceston. This park is surrounded by two impressive churches, and a third that has been now no longer used as such but has an engaging exterior.

Had we known this hotel has no lift we would have contacted them after making our booking to ask for a ground floor room. Struggling up the stairs with bags is an ordeal for some. We're just glad we were on the first floor and not the second. We were met at reception by a man who seemed somewhat out of his depth. He couldn’t find the booking-in register or the internal map showing us where our room was. His directions were vague and unhelpful. Nor did he seem to know anything about Launceston itself. Some local knowledge for tourists would have been helpful. Our room was dark making it necessary to keep lights on all the time. Nevertheless, it was clean and comfortable. The taps in the shower are below the shower head making it necessary to reach through the water flow to adjust the temperature running the risk of being scalded. Not a very clever design. It’s close to the CBD and comfortable for an economy hotel but we would look elsewhere the next time we visit Launceston.

We arrived earlier than expected and the staff made us feel very welcome. Helpful with maps and directions.

Enjoyed our stay,well priced for a queen size room.Ticked all the boxes for us.Will have no problems staying again and recommending it to any who wish to stay anytime
