In reasonable location, easy walking distance to Bangla Rd and shopping. Breakfast included was excellent.

Toward the Southern end of the strip which was quieter.

We were at the hotel when the Tsunami tragedy occurred. We were lucky to escape with just minor injuries. Our little girl Riya (6) was in the Kids play area, at the front of the hotel when the waves hit the hotel. The attended from the hotel - Miu, had the courage and presence of mind to get Riya and 2 other kids to run towards the main building away from the on-coming water. Again from the main hotel building, one of the staff members picked her up and carried her along with a German couple who were guests, to higher ground. We thank Miu and the other staff for showing the courage and helping in saving the life of our daughter.<br> <br> The hotel management also made excellent arrangements in quick time at their sister hotel at Phuket Merlin for guests from the Patong Merlin who were evacuated. I am not sure much of the hotel remains after the disaster.

For about US$100+ pn, the pricing is not too bad relative to other hotels in this tier in Patong at this time of year (late Nov). Acceptably clean. Drawbacks: no safe in the room (have to use front desk); and no internet access (although I very quickly found internet provider across road). Would not be averse to using hotel again - although I will shop for better deal (if available).
