Location

overall hotel was great except the pool bar prices were way to expensive

The room was quite dark, and beds are firm but it is a nice location right on the beach. The bathroom is quite old but overall clean enough.

Spent 4 days there in Oct which I think is their low season, so the room rate incl. breakfast was excellent value for money. Away from the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach but still close enough that you can take advantage of the proximity for shopping, eating, etc. There is a public bus to Patong just around the corner from the hotel, also ATM machine, coffee/sandwich/pizza place and little supermarket stocking everything for your basic needs. This is one of the few hotel right on the beach, so you can hop from your poolside lounge chair to the ocean and back into the pool again. No need for a big trek up the hill. I would recommend this hotel for families with children, or couples who want convenience without the noise and sleaze of some of the other towns.

If you wish to spend your time in Thailand feeling like you are in a suburb of London or Munich, and pay up for the privilge, then this is for you. I could not stand it, or the attitude of the staff. I left on the second day and stayed at a beautiful, friendly place on the headland for the rest of the week. I would not return to "Kata Beach resort".

The excellent location right on the best beach of Phuket is worth it even though food and facilities were so so.
