Hotel Grand Chancellor Surfers Paradise Guest Reviews
That was the worst hotel room i have ever paid for in my life. First things first, the standard room and ambiance advertised on the internet are no where close to what you actually get. The images are there to dupe the public into paying for facilities they wont get, only to get arm-twisted on arrival to upgrade, this is third world mentality for a presumably modern business. I paid for a standard room which is fine by me but ended up in some rotten, smelly room. the carpet stunk, everything smelled old, the air conditioner vent had dust all over built up over many months hence i sneezed throughout my stay there. Three hours after check in i went down stairs to request another room of similar value but "cleaner and fresher", the gentleman at reception that had earlier checked me in i think he's srilankan, advised me that its what i had paid for, a standard room!, i didn't mind paying for a standard room BUT it had to be habitable!!! this is basic hygiene not a some third world establishment , i insisted that i was after a fresh room of similar value and not an upgrade, from this response i got the impression that if you pay for a standard room at your hotel, you get dirt, filth and foul smelling living quarters. i was so frustrated and inquired if i could get a refund and move that same night to another hotel, of course i would not get the refund. And i was in no mood to spend an extra cent at that hotel so i declined to upgrade. i asked if they could deodorize the room, not much we can do sir ,was the response i got. this same gentleman then instead decided to UP SALE ME into another room at an extra $50 per night, i was sterned, i have a problem, you gloss over it without a care in the world, offer no solution then advise that i pay more money to get a fresher room, i almost went mad but remained calm. If you check that room 1207, you will find that the carpet and curtains are soaked in air freshener, i had to go to woolworths to buy air freshener and turned my holiday into janitor duties after failing to get a resolution. THANKS for messing up my holiday, I tried every effort to avoid the room and spent most time outside, even countless hours in the spar at night just not to be in a room i paid for!!!! I had to cancel plans to bring my friends over the following day because that place had an acutely disgusting odour !! If thats what you offer your guests i can only wonder how clean your own homes are!!? if you think such foul smelling rooms are acceptable , may be to your overseas clients. i will definitely not be a good ambassador for you at all, i give investment advice at the national Australia bank and meet clients every day....and creating a lasting client experience builds one's brand and its that brand that becomes your signature and reputation for stronger business. the rest of the staff were great except the one that didn't have any interest in my concern about the room, he didn't even offer to send some one up to see what i was talking about but reminded me of what i paid for and the need to pay more to be moved to a fresher room, he even confessed that the other rooms were plusher and had ocean views, yet all i cared for was a clean room not an upgrade, basic hygiene is a right not a privilege and that’s how some of us have lived all our lives, it is infuriating that now you have to pay to be deprived of basic things. you are a disgrace. Stop deceiving the public about the value of the rooms you sale on behalf of those hotels, if you dont know what you are selling make effort to find out. feel free not to send me any more rubbish.

we had the worst experience in a hotel we have ever had at suffers paradise we booked online and paid $300 for a premium spa room and when we got there they wouldnt accept our visa debit card or a $500 cash deposit for the room so they downgraded us to another room for the same price which had mould in the shower grout and on the ceiling and they said they had emptied the mini bar for our convienice. Honestly what hotel does that and they did accept a $100 deposit for this hovel that they called a room but what was the deposit for? I'm a gold coast local and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.!!!!!!
