Location
By The Sea Port Douglas is located on the main street of Port Douglas, right by the sea. The property is only 50 metres from the palm-fringed Four Mile Beach and close to the Great Barrier Reef. Guests are only minutes away from cafes, restaurants and shops of the Marina Mirage.

The staff made us feel very welcome and were most helpful. The cosie room was comfortable but the balcony looked out into rain forest up close so quite dark, cool on a hot day so if you are not booked in there to enjoy a view you should enjoy.

Had a wonderful stay at By the Sea Port Douglas.. we were upgraded to a suite that had everything we needed... kitchenette and laundry facilities in the room (although the washer/dryer was a challenge to operate).. great location 100 yards from the beach.. the hotel staff were delightful and very helpful.. They provided bicycles, beach towels, ice and excellent advice on dining and sightseeing. They have recently renovated the hotel so it had a new feel to it and was clean and pretty. Wifi in the room worked great. Loved it.

Definitely not a 5 Star hotel but a perfect base from which to explore Port Douglas and surrounds. It has great facilities and Cathy is very helpful, friendly and efficient. By the Sea is clean, quiet and perfectly positioned for an easy walk to the beach or to the town CBD. Port Douglas is expensive so while the tariff may seem excessive, this is the norm for the area and you wont get better at a cheaper rate. We will definitely stay here again if we ever visit Port Douglas again and will unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone looking for this type of accommodation.

Very nice, clean apartment overlooking the pool. Excellent position close to the beach, a few minutes walk to bars, restaurants and shops. Katie was very helpful and informative with booking of trips and resort advice. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I really enjoyed my stay here . The location was perfect as it says right by the sea, and also just down the road from the shopes so it was near everthing. The staff were very friendly and were willing to help you in any way they could. I would definitely stay there again as I was travelling alone nI felt very safe there too and any trip you wanted to go on they would organise it for you so yes a good choice
